This program will introduce all students to how they can grow food at home and enable them to taste a variety of meals made from the produce that they grow at school. They will learn how different foods can be grown sustainably.

The school currently runs a program called 'Food Rocks' to feed all students across the school - breakfast, morning tea and a two-course lunch.

Providing healthy and well-balanced meals to students has made a significant difference to their ability to focus and concentrate on learning in class.

We would like the students, across P-12, to be involved with growing herbs and vegetables that we can harvest for our Food Rocks program. All students learn about sustainable food and fibre production.

Many of our middle secondary school students are involved with a hands-on learning program. They will be building five wicking beds to grow the plants. Wicking beds will be more water efficient given we are in a lower rainfall area.

Our Year 7 and 8 students will be learning about AgTech in their Digital Technologies class and will build kits to monitor soil moisture, temperature, humidity and light intensity.
