Travancore School

Amplify is a hands-on, skills-based music program for students newly admitted to the Banksia education program‚ a specialised education setting for young people with complex barriers to school engagement. The project introduces DJ skills and digital music creation as part of broader efforts to provide meaningful, engaging learning experiences.

The school works closely with a music therapist to support students in turning the lyrics they develop during the literacy-based communicate sessions into full musical pieces. The Amplify program will significantly enhance this experience, providing students with tools to compose, mix, and perform their music in an accessible and empowering format.

Through this grant, Travancore School will purchase professional DJ controllers and audio equipment to support students in developing their own music. This program will offer a creative outlet where students can explore sound, rhythm, and technology in a structured and inclusive environment.
